Colby Community College Volleyball is off to a strong start in the 2026 season after

putting together a 3-in-1 weekend down at the Midland kickoff classic in Texas. The 16th ranked Trojans opened the season with a five-set battle against host Midland College rallying to take the fourth set 26-24 before winning the deciding fifth 15-13. Colby also picked up victories over Vernon College and Hill College during the weekend.

The only setback came against ranked New Mexico Junior College. CCC is back in action on Thursday in Wyoming.

On the ball diamond, the Royals stayed red hot Sunday beating Detroit 11-7 to complete

a three-game sweep and extend their winning streak to eight straight. Nick Loughlin and John Rave both homered while Kyle Isabela-Drowbin three runs. Kansas City has also won seven straight at Kaufman Stadium completing an undefeated seven-game

home stand. The Royals now head north of the board to open up a series with Toronto starting on Tuesday.

The Rockies struggles continued Sunday with the 7-2 loss to Cleveland completing a

three-game sweep at Coors Field. Colorado has now lost six straight overall and nine straight at home. Tomoyuki Sugano struggled allowing five runs on nine hits in just three innings. The Rockies now hit the road with Ryan Feltenor getting to start tonight against Washington.

In football, Bonex looks sharp in his return to action despite the Broncos falling to

the Packers 33-13 Friday night. Nick's completed six of nine passes for 76 yards on a touchdown, including a 35-yard connection with Jalen Waddle. Nick said his return from a broken ankle felt like, quote, writing a bike in, quote, then close the preseason Friday against Minnesota.

And the Kansas City Chiefs fell to Tampa Bay 16-15 Saturday night in preseason action.

Harris and Butker drilled three long field goals in the first half, including a 69-yarder,

but later missed an extra point and a potential game-winning 43-yarder. Patrick Mahomes did not play with Justin Fields getting the start at quarterback. Kansas City closes the preseason Friday at home against Seattle.
