Oakley Gears Up for Spring “Girls Day Out” This Saturday

OAKLEY, Kan. — A popular spring tradition returns this weekend as the Oakley “Girls Day Out” takes over the fairgrounds on Saturday, April 25th.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at two locations, the Western Vista Complex and the Logan County 4-H Building, with free admission for all attendees. With more than 100 vendors expected, visitors can come and go throughout the day while enjoying a wide variety of shopping, activities, and local flavor.

Organizer Jodie Wright says the event continues to grow, thanks in large part to strong support from downtown Oakley and area businesses. Many local shops have contributed promotional items and prizes, helping showcase what the community has to offer.

One of the highlights returning this year is the popular “duck hunt.” Typically featuring 20 prize-filled ducks, this year’s event expands with added support from five local businesses sponsoring additional ducks. In total, more than 40 ducks will be hidden, each offering a chance to win gift certificates, gift cards, and other prizes tied to participating businesses.

To make getting around even easier, the Logan County train will be running between the two buildings, though it’s just a short walk, adding a fun touch for attendees. Concessions will also be available on-site throughout the day.

With a full lineup of vendors, prizes, and community involvement, Girls Day Out promises to be a fun and lively stop in Oakley this Saturday.
