Hoxie Rod Run Takes Center Stage This Weekend

One of the biggest events of the weekend is the annual Hoxie Rod Run on Saturday, June 20. Car enthusiasts from across the region will gather in Hoxie for a full day of classic cars, hot rods, and entertainment.


Activities begin with registration from 8 a.m. to noon (Central Time), followed by the Show and Shine from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other highlights include the Pedal Power Tractor Pull at 11 a.m., magician performances from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., the Pin-Up Pageant, Motor Blow Out at 2 p.m., Poker Run at 2:30 p.m., awards at 4 p.m., and drag racing at the Hoxie Airport beginning at 6 p.m.


The fun starts even earlier with Cruise Night on Friday at 5 p.m. (Central Time).


Shop Local at the Small Town Market in Scott City

Looking for unique gifts, home décor, clothing, or food items? The Small Town Market will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Central Time) at the Scott Community Center and Fairgrounds in Scott City.


The event features a variety of local vendors offering everything from handmade goods and jewelry to specialty foods and home décor. It's a great opportunity to support small businesses while finding something special.


Racing Returns to Thomas County Speedway

Fans of dirt track racing won't want to miss the action Friday night at the Thomas County Speedway in Colby.


Racing begins at 7 p.m. (Central Time) and will feature exciting competition as drivers battle for position on one of the region's favorite dirt tracks. The speedway consistently draws racers and fans from throughout western Kansas and eastern Colorado.


Two Nights of Rodeo Action in Gove County

The 37th Annual Gove County Rodeo returns to the Gove County Arena in Park on Friday and Saturday.


Each evening begins with sheep riding at 6:30 p.m. followed by rodeo action at 7:30 p.m. (Central Time). The event is sanctioned by the KPRA, Nebraska Rodeo Association, Mid States Rodeo Association, and is part of the I-70 Rodeo Series.


The excitement continues Saturday night with the Rodeo Dance at Buffalo Park Station in Park. Live music by Crazy Horse 2.0 starts at 9 p.m. (Central Time), with tickets available for $10 at the door.
