In the morning of Wednesday, August 12th, the Citizen's Health Center in Colby held an in-person press conference to announce a new partnership between Citizen's and the KU Cancer Center. Many community members were in attendance at this press conference, as well as Senator Jerry Moran, who has been in close ties with helping this partnership underway.

NWKS Radio News Director Lucas Kenney joined Senator Moran over the phone before the conference took place to talk about how this new partnership will positively affect Northwest Kansas.

First and foremost, Senator Moran was very excited to announce this new opportunity. He noted the work that has been put into this partnership to make sure that those Kansans farther away from cities still have access to good healthcare without traveling across the state.

"We're always trying to make sure that specialty opportunities available in the big cities on the east side of the state...are closer and readily available on the western side of the state."

The Senator then continued to talk about what this means for healthcare access across the state and in our small local communities.

Another part of this announcement press conference was a tour of the HOPE on Wheels vehicle. You can find more information about the HOPE of Wheels program in the article linked below.
