The threat for severe storms is MODERATE to HIGH today, Saturday, across northwest Kansas, eastern Colorado, and southwest Nebraska.
𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓:
• Storms may begin developing in northeast Colorado as early as 1:30 PM MT (2:30 PM CT) and move east through the evening.
• Severe weather may continue in the listening area until around Midnight CT.
• Peak severe weather timing is expected between:
3 PM – 8 PM MT
4 PM – 9 PM CT

𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐒:
• VERY LARGE HAIL — up to 4 inches possible
• DAMAGING WINDS
• QUICK SPIN-UP TORNADOES, especially during the evening
• BLOWING DUST & BROWNOUT CONDITIONS reducing visibility
• LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING possible with slower-moving isolated storms
Forecasters say storms may rapidly split and change direction, creating fast-changing and dangerous conditions. Some storms could move slower to the southeast at only 5–10 mph, increasing the risk for hail, tornadoes, and localized flooding.
𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓:
The strongest wind threat may come from clusters or lines of storms rather than isolated cells. However, isolated storms could produce stronger and longer-lasting tornadoes.
If you have travel plans, outdoor activities, graduation parties, sporting events, or other events planned today, stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings.
Looking Ahead:
Even MORE severe weather is possible Sunday and Monday.
