Shredded Cheese Recalled After Metal Fragments Were Found in Cheese

The Food and Drug Administration has warned Kansas shoppers to double-check their shredded cheese. An Ohio-based company, Great Lakes Cheese Co. recalled multiple products they sent to 31 states, including Kansas for potentially containing metal fragments.

The recall was originally initiated Oct. 3, but has resurfaced as it was reclassified as a Class 2, defined as a situation where use or exposure to a certain product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote per the FDA.

The recalled cheeses, sold under the Great Lakes Cheese umbrella or other brands which are listed below:
