Wind Causes Damage in Thomas County

Severe storms popped up late afternoon into early evening across the NWKS Radio listening area!

Earlier today straight-line winds caused significant damage in our area, including tearing a roof off a home on County Road C. We are relieved to report that the family inside is safe and no injuries have been reported.

Midwest Energy Crews are currently in the area of Highway 83 and County Road C working diligently to repair down powerlines from multiple snapped power poles and restore services as quickly and safely as possible.

Please continue to use caution in the area and avoid any downed lines. Sheriff Deputy Nichols."
