About this 2nd crash. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 2:35 p.m. on July 29, 2025, at milepost 77.6.

The report states that a 2020 Nissan Leaf, driven by 50-year-old James Boyd of Denver, Colorado, was westbound on the interstate when it slowed down. A 2014 Kenworth semi, driven by Cody Roy, 40, of Lenora, Kansas, failed to slow in time and rear-ended the Nissan.

Boyd was transported to Logan County Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Roy was uninjured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The Nissan was removed by S&M Repair of Colby and taken to a tow lot. The semi’s trailer was identified as a 2022 Mac, insured through Great West Casualty.
