Carol Lea Baalmann, 58, of Shawnee, KS, died Saturday, September 6, 2025. She was born in Oakley, KS, on February 12, 1967, to Ralph and Lois (Bell) Baalmann. Carol was a 1985 graduate of Grinnell High School. She attended Marymount College in Salina, KS, until its closing and then finished her degree at Kansas Wesleyan University. Carol worked for Ferrell Gas for 28 years, starting in Houston, and eventually relocating to Overland Park, KS. At Ferrell Gas, she was known for her "candy drawer," which she always kept stocked for her coworkers, and for her famous queso that she made for Ferrell birthday parties. She had the biggest heart and biggest smile. She never knew a stranger, and she'd drop everything she was doing to help anyone who needed it. She loved spending time with her family and taking care of her nieces and nephews. Carol was a mother hen to everyone, and her family and friends were her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph. She is survived by her mother Lois; sisters, Linda (Dan) Jones and Beverly (Jamie) Rodriguez; and nieces and nephews, Damon Jones, Hannah Jones, Jessica (Spencer) Moorefield, Matthew (Allison) Rodriguez, and Sara (Tony) Capelo.
