Colby Celebrates Halloween Week With Spooktacular Fun for Kids and Families

Halloween fun was happening all week long in Colby, with plenty of opportunities for local kids and families to get into the spooky spirit!

The week kicked off Monday with the CCC Rodeo Teams' Rodeo Boo Bash, followed by the Boo Bash at the Colby Event Center on Tuesday. Wednesday brought Halloween and Horses, hosted by the CCC Equestrian Team.

But Friday brought the biggest community celebration of the week!

Kids showed off their Halloween costumes at school before taking part in the annual costume parade around the outside of Colby Grade School. Parents lined the route, cheering on the kids as they made their way around the school, stopping at different stations to trick-or-treat with teachers and administrators.

The Halloween excitement continued from 4 to 6 p.m. as downtown Colby filled with little ghosts, goblins, superheroes and princesses for the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat event.

Friday morning started out foggy and misty, but the weather cleared just in time for the afternoon festivities. Hundreds of children and parents filled the downtown streets, visiting participating businesses and collecting treats along the way. From candy and apples to stickers and even rubber ducks, there was something fun waiting around nearly every corner!

NWKS Radio was also part of the celebration, teaming up with MC Entertainment in the Rolling Radio. Halloween music filled the downtown streets while kids stopped by the photo booth to pose for pictures and take home their own photo strips as a keepsake from the day.

There were plenty of smiles, bright faces and laughter ringing throughout downtown Colby!

The annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat event is always a favorite community tradition, bringing families, local businesses and the community together for an afternoon of Halloween fun. And this year was another reminder of just how much fun a little community spirit can bring!
