Costumes, Candy and Sunshine Make for a Boo-tiful Afternoon in Oakley

School’s out, costumes are on, and downtown Oakley is calling! That was the recipe for a fun afternoon Wednesday, Oct. 28, as Boo at the Businesses brought kids, families and local businesses together for a little Halloween celebrating.

The weather deserved a treat of its own. A beautiful afternoon made it easy for families to enjoy visiting participating businesses, showing off their costumes and soaking up the community fun from 2:45 to 5 p.m.

The timing couldn’t have been better, either. Oakley students wore their costumes to school Wednesday, and with classes dismissing at 2:45 p.m., they were ready to take their Halloween looks straight downtown. Even some adults got in on the costume fun!

For the second year, NWKS Radio brought the Rolling Radio to Oakley, teaming up with Howard from MC Entertainment DJs & Photo Booth to capture those Halloween smiles. Kids stepped into the photo booth for pictures and left with strips of photos to take home, a keepsake to go along with their afternoon of treats.

From the costumes to the welcoming businesses, there was plenty to smile about. Events like Boo at the Businesses are a reminder of how much fun our small towns can pack into an afternoon, especially when local businesses and families join in.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Rolling Radio, and a special thank-you to Howard and MC Entertainment DJs & Photo Booth for helping make our second Oakley visit so much fun!

The Halloween fun continues Friday, Oct. 30! NWKS Radio and MC Entertainment DJs & Photo Booth will be in Colby for Downtown Trick or Treat from 4 to 6 p.m. Bring the kids in costume and stop by for another picture-perfect Halloween memory.
