The Colby Aquatic Park wrapped up its summer season Sunday, August 10, with the annual Dive-In Pool Party — an event that brings the community together for movies, food, and fun, all for a good cause.
This year’s party raised money for Colby Play 315, an organization made up of parents, educators, and community stakeholders working to renovate the Colby Grade School playground to make it safe, accessible, and inclusive for all children. Their goal is to have the new playground installed by spring of 2026, with much of the equipment purchased before the end of this year to avoid rising costs. The total fundraising goal is just under $1.1 million, with support coming from grants, business donations, and community contributions.
The Dive-In Pool Party featured a pirate theme, with screenings of Hook at 5 p.m. and Pirates of the Caribbean at 6:30 p.m. on a massive LED screen. Kids and adults enjoyed the movies while swimming, snacking on hot dogs (donated for the event), and cooling off with sno cones and cotton candy provided by Play 315. Entry and free will donation proceeds going directly to the playground project.

Originally scheduled for later in the evening, the event was moved up by an hour on Friday afternoon due to a forecast for severe weather. The decision proved to be the right call, as storms rolled in just after the final credits. In the meantime, the crowd enjoyed beautiful weather, plenty of laughs, and a safe, family-friendly night.
While in the 100.3 The Ride studios and visiting on-air about Colby Play 315, Heather Dible and Jenna Gatz said Colby Play 315 is staying busy with more fundraising events, including a booth and dunk tank at Flower Fest, a Pizza Hut fundraiser on August 26, and a 5K run/walk with a kids fun run on September 6 in partnership with Colby Grade School PE teacher Brian Miller.
