Douglas Joseph Weber, 57, of Overland Park, KS, died Wednesday, August 19, 2026. He was born on February 27, 1969, in Wichita, KS, to Robert Weber and Judy Helget. He grew up in Colby, KS, graduating from Colby High School in 1987. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He proudly served his country for 23 years, retiring as Chief Warrant Officer 3. While serving in the Coast Guard, Doug also earned his bachelor’s degree.

Doug loved adventure and spending time with his family. Some of his favorite memories were made around a table playing Kismet, taking road trips, or simply enjoying time together. He also enjoyed cooking, golfing, tinkering with his motorcycles, and playing drums. A proud sailor, Doug loved the ocean and the sense of adventure that came with it. He was an avid supporter of the KU Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs. His Catholic faith was an important part of his life and guided the way he served others and cared for those around him.

Doug was a man of honor who lived life with bold and reckless abandon. He was charismatic, generous, and wore his heart on his sleeve. He had a gift for making people laugh and turning ordinary moments into lasting memories. He never laughed harder than when he was with Brother Mike. And when he agreed with you, you could always count on hearing, “Word to the ribeye.”

Doug was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughters, Shelby Marie Weber Stoddard and Lindsey Diane Weber; sisters Lori Hatch and Deborah Kersenbrock; brother Mike Weber and grandchildren, Stratton Douglas Stoddard and Everett Joseph Weber. Doug’s greatest pride was his family and the life he built with them. He leaves behind a legacy of service, faith, adventure, laughter, and love. His memory will live on in the stories shared around the table, the adventures taken together, and the lives he touched along the way.

Visitation is 6-7:00 pm, with a Vigil at 7:00 pm, Monday, August 24, 2026, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral Mass is at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 25, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby, with burial in Beulah Cemetery, Colby.
