Geraldine Marguerite Cecilia VonLintel Swart, 94, of Grinnell, KS, passed away on August 22, 2026, at the Logan County Senior Living Center, Oakley, KS. She was born November 10, 1931, in Logan County to Herman and Mary (Mader) Lintel. Geraldine attended Oakley High School and later embraced life as a farmer’s wife to her beloved husband, Johnnie.

Being a mom was her first love, and she poured her heart into her family, her home, and her neighbors. Geraldine found joy everywhere: antiquing, garage sales, painting homes, feeding her birds, bunnies and squirrels, selling AVON, refinishing antique furniture, baking her famous Geraldine’s Sugar Cookies, tending to her yard, talking with friends, serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a bit of gambling on the side. She was a member of the W.I.O.N. club and lived her Catholic faith with consistency.

She was known for her kindness, the best loud laugh you ever heard, and the biggest hugs. She was often heard saying, “I just love my life!” She also frequently shared, “I know my God and my God knows me.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnnie; her daughters Patricia Jane Baalman, Margie Lynn Swart, and Mary Ann Swart; her son in law Merle L. Parker; and her sisters Armella (Ralph) Kruse, LaVerna (Frances) Robben, Lela (Pius) Heier, Eunice (Charlie) Weber, Elaine (Elmer) Hammerschmidt, Donnie (Dixie) Lintel, and Marietta (Jim) Snyder Coats.

Geraldine is survived by her children Sandra Swart Parker, Ernest G. Swart (Margie), and Jack L. Swart; son-in-law Daniel H. Baalman (Pat); grandchildren Carolyn Swart, Krystal Swart, and Meagan Cho (David); and great-granddaughter Isabella Patricia Wairama; as well as a treasure trove of other loving family and many friends.

A celebration of Geraldine’s life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00 am, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Grinnell, KS.
