Four Injured in Wednesday Night Crash Near Oakley

THOMAS COUNTY- Four people were taken to Logan County Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on I-70 late Wednesday night.


According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:58 p.m. on July 23, when a 2000 Dodge Durango traveling eastbound attempted to exit the interstate at Exit 70—approximately six miles north of Oakley. The vehicle hydroplaned, struck a highway sign, then hit a tree just south of the exit ramp.


The driver, 17-year-old Quinton Reeh of Oakley, was transported with suspected minor injuries. Three passengers were also taken to Logan County Hospital with suspected minor injuries: Michael Kreuzer 34, of Oakley; Heather Reeh, 41, of Colby; and Emery Wright, 19, of Oakley. Of the four occupants, only the driver was reported to be wearing a seatbelt.


The vehicle was removed by Butch’s Body Shop and towed to a lot. The crash remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
