COLLEGE FB

Kansas State could be without starting quarterback Avery Johnson for the remainder of the season. Head coach Collin Klein said Monday there's only an outside chance Johnson returns this year after missing the Wildcats' last two games with an injury. Freshman Blake Barnett will make his first career start Saturday against Oklahoma State, becoming K-State's fourth different starting quarterback in four games. Barnett accounted for 264 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's overtime loss to Colorado.

NFL

The Chicago Bears improved to 6-and-2 Monday night, knocking off the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks 34-to-17. Caleb Williams threw for 247 yards and a touchdown, while D'Andre Swift scored three rushing touchdowns.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid says benching starting left guard Kingsley Suamataia during Sunday's 28-to-24 loss to Denver was not disciplinary. Reid declined to explain the decision, saying it was a private matter between the two. Backup Mike Caliendo played every offensive snap, while Suamataia appeared only on special teams. It's the second time Suamataia has been benched this season, although he's expected to return to the starting lineup against the Jets.
