The ninth-ranked Colby Community College volleyball team is back in action tonight, traveling to Garden City for a 6 o’clock first serve. The Trojans enter 17-and-4 overall and tied atop the KJCCC at 8-and-1 after wins over Butler and Pratt last week. Sophomore Isadora Carrareto was named the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week after recording 27 kills while hitting .619 in last week’s two victories. The Trojans also climbed two spots in the latest national rankings, moving back into the top ten at number nine.
The Dodgers and Padres picked up big wins Tuesday night in the National League Division Series. Los Angeles beat Atlanta 3-1 to take a 2-1 series lead, while San Diego stayed alive with a 4-3 win over Milwaukee, cutting the Brewers’ series lead to 2-1. Four games are on tap today. The Denver Broncos are adding some depth at wide receiver following the injury to Pat Bryant. Denver has re-signed rookie Cam Ross to its practice squad after Bryant suffered a sprained ankle in Sunday’s loss to San Francisco and is expected to miss a few weeks. Ross spent the offseason and preseason with Denver, catching five passes while also seeing time as a returner.
