Goodland came back from 26 points down in the 3rd quarter to upset Burlington, 38-34
Cheylin rolled Golden Plains 58-12
Hoxie edged Osborne, 30-24
Oakley lost 40-12 at Wichita County
Wallace County took down Hill City, 38-22
Quinter improved to 2-0 with a 38-12 win over Rawlins County
Weskan blew out Northern Valley, 65-18
Wheatland/Grinnell cruised over Brewster, 64-6
Decatur Community shut out St. Francis, 46-0
Quinter volleyball captured the Gove County Classic championship on Saturday, going a perfect 5-and-0 on the day. The Bulldogs picked up wins over Golden Plains, Weskan and Decatur Community on their way to the tournament title, where they swept Cheylin.
At the Trego Tournament: Oakley went 3-1 in pool play and then avenged a loss to Hays TMP in the tournament title in three sets to win it

Colby Community College volleyball went a perfect 4-and-0 at the Sheila Worley Tournament over the weekend, including a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents in 11th-ranked Frank Phillips & Northeastern as the Trojans extended their winning streak to seven straight matches and will host Hutch tonight.

Three wins and a loss highlight the regional college football weekend. Kansas State moves to 2-and-0 after handling Washington State 34-7, with Avery Johnson throwing three touchdowns. Nebraska is also 2-0, rolling past Bowling Green 56-7. Huskers piled up 546 yards of offense. Colorado stayed unbeaten with a 52-21 win over Weber State thanks to Julian Lewis, who threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns. Meanwhile, Kansas fell to 1-and-1, losing the return of the Border War to 23rd-ranked Missouri, 38-21 in Lawrence on Friday night.
BASEBALL
A tough Sunday for the Royals and Rockies. Kansas City dropped two of three in Boston, falling 4-1 in the finale despite six strong innings from Noah Cameron. Meanwhile, Colorado was swept by Detroit, losing Sunday’s finale 8-1 to extend its losing streak to seven straight games. Rockies open a series with San Diego Monday nightThe Royals head to Houston Tuesday, while the Rockies open a series with San Diego Monday night.
NFL
The Chiefs & Broncos open the season under the Monday night lights tonight at Arrowhead. Patrick Mahomes is set to return following offseason knee surgery, while Bo Nix is back for the Broncos after recovering from a fractured ankle. Kansas City will be without starting left tackle Josh Simmons, creating a key matchup against Denver’s pass rush. Kickoff is at 7:15 CT / 6:15 Mountain.
