St. Francis Tri: Sainty was swept by Greeley County.  Greeley County swept Wallace County.  Wallace County won 2-1 over St. Francis

Oakley split their two matches last night in Smith Center.  Lady Plainsmen lost in three to Smith Center but defeated Hill City in three. 

Hoxie went 0-2 at the Russell Tri: Lady Indians were swept by Russell and lost in three to Hays TMP. 

The eighth-ranked Colby Community College volleyball team is back at home tonight, hosting Seward County. The Trojans enter at 13-and-3 overall and 4-and-0 in KJCCC play, riding an eight-match winning streak. Colby also swept this week’s conference honors, with Ella Dridi named Offensive Player of the Week, Anita Ferri Defensive Player of the Week, and Priscilla Salas Moreno Setter of the Week. First serve against Seward is set for 6:30 at the Colby Event Center.

Kansas is turning its attention to Big 12 play and a trip across the Atlantic, as the Jayhawks prepare to face Arizona State Saturday at Wembley Stadium in London.  Associate head coach Andy Kotelnicki met with the media yesterday and said quarterback Isaiah Marshall continues to grow following KU’s loss to Missouri, while improving the running game is a major emphasis this week. The Jayhawks are looking to become more consistent on the ground after struggling to establish the run against the Tigers.  

BASEBALL

The Rockies finally snapped their eight-game losing streak Tuesday night, beating San Diego 9-3 at Coors Field. Rookie Cole Carrigg had a huge night, going 4-for-5 with two home runs and finishing a triple shy of the cycle. His three-run shot capped a five-run sixth inning that broke the game open. Ryan Feltner added five scoreless innings in relief as Colorado picked up its first win in more than a week.

The Royals dropped their third straight Tuesday night, falling to Houston 4-2. Jeremy Peña homered twice for the Astros, while Yordan Alvarez added his 39th of the season. Kansas City got RBI hits from Carter Jensen and Vinnie Pasquantino, but Michael Wacha allowed four runs over six innings. The Royals will try to even the series Wednesday with Daniel Lynch on the mound.
