Families, kids, teens, and adults stopped by the Pioneer Memorial Library in Colby on Thursday, May 28th, as the library officially kicked off its 2026 Summer Learning Program with the theme “Unearth a Story.”
The come-and-go event ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and featured games, activities, summer reading registration, and plenty of family fun. The theme for this summer focuses on digging into stories involving geology, archaeology, genealogy, history, and discovery while encouraging readers of all ages to explore something new.
Preschoolers through adults had the chance to register for the Summer Challenge Game while enjoying hands-on activities throughout the library. Families packed the library throughout the day as students celebrated the start of summer vacation and the beginning of summer reading season in Colby.
The Pioneer Memorial Library has a full lineup of summer programming planned in the coming weeks. Programs include storytimes for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and families, along with the Youth Activity Center (YAC), summer learning activities, book clubs, and interactive educational programs designed to keep kids learning and engaged all summer long.
The library also continues to offer programs for adults including book clubs, ESL classes, and community activities throughout the summer.
More information about upcoming summer programs, schedules, and registration can be found on the Pioneer Memorial Library website colbylibrary.com
