PRESS RELEASE: SACRED HEART SCHOOL ACADEMIC SUCCESS




-From Sacred Heart School Colby, KS--State assessment results from the 2023-2024 school year have been released by the Kansas Policy Institute and Sacred Heart School in Colby, Kansas has increased their academic success, ranking highest in the community, above majority in the state and some within their Salina Diocese District.


State assessments test in areas of Math, Science and English Language Arts (ELA) and results are broken down by levels 1-4, 4 being the highest comprehension and achievement. According the the Kansas Department of Education report card, Sacred Heart has students earning 39.4% in levels 3 & 4 in Math, 66.66% in Science and 48.48% in ELA; compared to the rest of the state that is coming in at 31.6%, 32.28% and 33.55% respectively. Their science results especially shine through as it is 17.97% higher than the schools in the Salina Diocese District. Sacred Heart also one of only 18% of schools across the state (public and private) that received an overall “B” grade, 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and up .5 from the previous year. Sacred Heart School is an accredited K-5 elementary school, with Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten options available for all wishing to attend. They will be hosting an open house and Pre-Enrollment night for anyone interested in learning about the school, seeing curriculum, taking a tour and asking any questions for the leadership. The event is schedule for April 3rd, come and go from 5:00- 7:00pm at 1150 W 6th Street in Colby. In addition those wanting to explore what Kindergarten might look like, that visitation is Friday, April 4th from 8:00am - 12:00pm and you can register by calling the school. Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year is also open
