Summer is heating up across Northwest Kansas, and there’s no shortage of events to fill your days with fun, learning, shopping, and community spirit. Whether you're into board games, basketball, live music, vintage treasures, or even body slams, there's something coming up for everyone. Tuesday, June 3
🌾 7:30 AM – Thomas County Wheat Plot Tour Agriculture enthusiasts are invited to join the Thomas County Wheat Plot Tour, starting at 7:30 AM. Presenters Jeanne Falk Jones, Lucas Haag, and Kelsey Andersen Onofre will guide attendees through the test plot, located 10 miles south of I-70 on the Levant-Winona blacktop to County Road G, then just a half-mile west. RSVPs are encouraged (call 785-460-4582), but walk-ins are welcome.
🎲 1:00 PM MST – Board Game Summer Camp (Ages 5–9), Goodland Kids ages 5 to 9 can enjoy structured board game fun at Goodland Games (1907 Cherry Ave) every Tuesday afternoon. Cost is just $5/day and includes snacks and drinks. Camp runs from 1 to 2:30 PM Mountain Time throughout June and July.
Wednesday, June 4
🏀 9:00 AM – Trojan Elite Basketball Camp, Colby High school boys entering grades 9–12 can sharpen their skills at the Trojan Elite Basketball Camp, hosted by Colby Community College. The camp runs from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Colby Event Center. Registration is $75 and includes a T-shirt and personal evaluation. Sign up at colbytrojans.com or contact Coach A.J. 🎶 12:00 PM – Picnic in the Park, Colby Bring your lunch and lawn chair to Fike Park for live music at noon! The June 4th kickoff features Maria Baalman with food from Billy’s Fry Time food truck. Picnic in the Park runs every Wednesday through July 16.
🎬 2:30 PM – Summer Matinees at the Sherman Theatre, Goodland This week’s featured film is Trolls Band Together. Admission is $5 or free with a season pass ($18 for all 9 movies). Movies show every Wednesday at 2:30 PM.
Thursday, June 5
🎲 2:00 PM – Board Game Summer Camp (Ages 10–15), Goodland Older kids ages 10 to 15 get their turn at Goodland Games every Thursday afternoon. Camp runs 1 to 2:30 PM MT with a $5 fee that includes snacks and drinks.
Friday, June 6
🛍 All Day – A-Z Flea Market Blowout Sale, Colby Head to 305 N Franklin for incredible storewide savings of 40–70%! The sale runs Friday and Saturday from 10 AM–5 PM and continues Sunday afternoon with a “name your price” special.
🛒 All Day – Highway 24 Garage Sale Stretching along Highway 24, this community-wide garage sale is a treasure hunter’s dream.
🏁 7:00 PM – Thomas County Speedway Races, Colby Catch the high-speed action at Thomas County Speedway. Races start at 7 PM.
Saturday, June 7
🛒 All Day – Highway 24 Garage Sale Keep those bargain-hunting vibes going all weekend!
🧺 9:00 AM – Prairie Barn Market, Colby From 9 AM to 3 PM, the Prairie Museum of Art & History hosts its 7th annual Prairie Barn Market. Enjoy handmade and vintage shopping, food trucks, a rusty truck and tractor show, pony rides, and more family fun.
🎞 1:30 PM MST– WWII Classic Film Series: Casablanca, Goodland Sherman Theatre and the High Plains Museum present Casablanca as part of a free WWII movie series. Learn about the war and Sherman County's connection to it.
🤼♂️ 5:00 PM MST– Precision Kombat Wrestling, Cheyenne Wells, CO International Championship Wrestling presents “Do Unto Others” at the Cheyenne Wells Fairgrounds Community Building. Doors open at 5 PM MT, bell time at 6 PM. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Clean fun for all ages with anti-bullying messages.
Sunday, June 8
⛳️ 8:00 AM MST– GAC Golf Tournament, GoodlandThe annual GAC Golf Tournament at Sugar Hills Golf Club is a 2-person mixed scramble open to all age groups. $75/person includes a meal and prizes. Check-in at 8 AM MT, shotgun start at 9 AM. Register online at goodlandgac.com.
