There's a whole latte excitement brewing at Wheatland-Grinnell High School as students prepare to take the stage for their upcoming dinner theater production of A Whole Latte Love, November 14th and 15th!

Four members of the cast, Italy Teeter, Kelsie Bland, Remi Hancock, and Blake Zimmerman, recently made the trip to the NWKS Radio studios to visit with Joel Navarro and give listeners a sneak peek at what promises to be a fun evening of food, laughter, and entertainment.

What's Brewing in A Whole Latte Love?

The production takes place in a coffee shop where things get a little mixed up, literally! Different coffees have different effects, and when orders get switched around, the customers find themselves in some pretty entertaining situations.

During their visit, the students introduced their characters and shared a little about their roles.

  • Italy Teeter plays Vivian, an elderly woman at the coffee shop.

  • Kelsie Bland takes on the role of a shy schoolgirl.

  • Remi Hancock plays Wendell, a character who falls in love with the priestess.

  • Blake Zimmerman plays a loan officer.

The students have been rehearsing since the beginning of the school year, putting in plenty of time learning lines, developing their characters, and getting comfortable performing in front of an audience.

When asked what they've learned from the experience, the students shared that it's about much more than memorizing a script.

"We've learned a lot about speaking and memorizing and getting along together," one student explained.

They also talked about overcoming the awkwardness of performing in front of others and how, with practice, being on stage becomes much more natural.

Of course, there was plenty of laughter during the studio visit, proving these young performers are already having a great time bringing their characters to life!

Dinner and a Show!

The fun doesn't stop with the performance. Audience members will also enjoy a catered dinner before the curtain goes up.

Broken Handle Catering will provide the meals, with a different menu each evening.

Saturday, November 14: Roast beef with sides

Sunday, November 15: Pulled pork

Dinner begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the performance at 5:30 p.m. each evening.
