Colby Senior Casen Carrol signs to play for Garden City

by Derek White

Colby senior quarterback Casen Carroll has signed his national letter of intent to attend and play for the Garden City Broncbusters next year.  A magical day for any young man, but this day was extra special as he was able to celebrate it with his family and friends at the Colby High School.

Carroll had a successful career at Colby, he maintained a 3.63 GPA throughout the four years, enjoying most of his time in Strength Training.  He particularly enjoyed the time to better himself, but also to work with the younger classes to improve their lifting too.

While lifting was a great time, his favorite and will be most missed teacher will be Mrs. Myers.  She has brightened his day so many times over the years, and her awesome self-spirit and attitude set her apart from others.

Not all his memories will be from the classroom however, one of his fondest moments will be from his sophomore year the basketball team qualified for state.  Making it better was the fact that his best friends were along the journey with him.

As he moves on from Colby, he’ll be focusing his studies on either Agribusiness finance or something in the medical field, only time will tell.

Looking back at Carroll’s activities career, you could have found him on either a football field, basketball court, or the track.  In football he recorded the personal best half with 308 yards passing, most passing yard in a single season with 1973, highest quarterback rating in a single game, the most passing touchdowns in a single season, and the most passing completions in a season at Colby.

His goal at the next level is to compete at the junior college level for the next two years, then transfer to a bigger school competing at the division-one level.

Carroll is a young man built on faith; he is a devout Catholic who has dedicated his life to God.  His main passion is to be the best son, brother, grandson, and cousin that he can be.

He receives support from his family Chris and Nicki Carroll, siblings Colin, Ceithen, and Cainan.   His faith has taught him to dream big, and his long-term goal is just that; he wants to be playing quarterback in the National Football League someday.
