The Sunflower Showdown hits the volleyball court Thursday night as Kansas State hosts 17th-ranked Kansas at Morgan Family Arena in Manhattan. The Wildcats enter at 9-5 overall and 1-5 in Big 12 play, looking to snap a five-match losing streak. Meanwhile, the Jayhawks are 11-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play, having won 10 of their last 11 matches. The Milwaukee Brewers are just one win away from the World Series after knocking off the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 Wednesday night in Game Three of the National League Championship Series. Jake Bauers delivered the big blow with a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning, while Garrett Mitchell added another home run as Milwaukee took a commanding three-games-to-none series lead. The Brewers can clinch their first World Series appearance since 1982 with a victory in Game Four tonight in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the American League Championship Series is tied at one game apiece between Cleveland and Tampa Bay with Game Three at noon CT today in Cleveland.
The Denver Broncos will be without another key member of their secondary for tonight's Thursday Night Football matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Safety Talanoa Hufanga is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering an ankle injury in Sunday's 23-17 win over the Chargers. ESPN reports Hufanga could be sidelined two to three weeks, potentially keeping him out until after Denver's Week 10 bye. Hufanga has been a major playmaker for the Broncos defense, recording 23 tackles this season while forcing and recovering a fumble against the Chargers. Devon Key is expected to start in his place tonight. Denver will also be without All-Pro cornerback Pat Surtain the Second, who continues to recover from an ankle injury. The 3-2 Broncos host the 3-2 Seahawks tonight at Empower Field at Mile High, with kickoff set for 6:15 Mountain Time. You can catch the game on Rock-It 102.5 KLOE!
