Goodland Cowgirl golf turned in a strong showing at Monday’s Colby Girls Invitational, finishing second as a team with a 384, just five shots behind champion Hays TMP. Natalie Cure led the Cowgirls with an 83 to finish second individually, while Sadie Sederstrom tied for third with a 92. Colby finished fourth as a team, led by Cora DeGood, who also tied for third with a 92. Thomas More’s Brynn Schoepf earned top medalist honors with a 78.

Kansas State is turning its attention to Big 12 play after Saturday’s 31-20 win over Tulane. Collin Klein says the Wildcats made progress offensively but still have areas to clean up defensively as they prepare to visit Cincinnati. Meanwhile, Kansas enters its bye week at 1-and-2 and dealing with several injuries, including running back Yasin Willis, who left Saturday’s loss to Arizona State with a foot injury. The Jayhawks hope the open week will give them a chance to get healthy.

NFL

The Rams rolled past the Giants 28-6 Monday night in Los Angeles. Matthew Stafford threw for more than 300 yards and four touchdowns, including two to Davante Adams, who finished with 195 receiving yards. New York struggled offensively after quarterback Jaxson Dart left with a knee injury, managing just a pair of field goals.

BASEBALL

After both getting days off, the Royals & Rockies are back on the diamond today as the regular season winds down. Kansas City, who is riding a three-game losing skid, is home tonight, opening a three-game series with the White Sox, with first pitch set for 6:40 CT on AM 790 KXXX. Meanwhile, the Rockies open a three-game set with Arizona at Coors Field.
