Hoxie Tri: The Lady Indians defeated Colby 2-1. Colby & Hoxie were swept by McCook in the other matches of the night.

Colby CC hosts Cloud County


At the Trego Cross Country Meet, Quinter won the boys team title, led by individual champion Carter Pennington. Oakley’s Jethro Crisler and Aaron Samuelson finished second and third. On the girls side, Hoxie edged Plainville by one point for the team championship.

BASEBALL

A tough Thursday for the Royals and Rockies. Kansas City fell to Houston 6-2, dropping two of three in the series, and now heads to Pittsburgh for a weekend set beginning Friday against Paul Skenes. Meanwhile, Colorado lost to San Diego 9-2, as the Padres took three of four. The Rockies stay home this weekend to host the Seattle Mariners.


NFL

Josh Allen accounted for five touchdowns Thursday night as Buffalo beat Detroit 41-31 in the first regular-season game at the Bills’ new stadium. Allen threw for three scores and ran for two as Buffalo improved to 2-and-0.

A big Sunday ahead for the Chiefs and Broncos. Denver looks to bounce back from its season-opening loss, hosting 1-and-0 Jacksonville in the Broncos’ home opener. Kickoff is at 2:05 Mountain on Rocket 102.5 KLOE. Then Sunday night, the 1-and-0 Chiefs host 0-1 Indianapolis at Arrowhead. Kickoff is at 6:20 Mountain on 100.3 the Ride.


COLLEGE FB

A busy regional college football Saturday starts overseas, as Kansas battles Arizona State at Wembley Stadium in London. Kickoff at 11 CT on FOC 97.9. Also at 11, 2-and-0 Kansas State hosts Tulane in Manhattan. Hear coverage on 100.3 the Ride. Later, 2-and-0 Nebraska hosts North Dakota, while 2-and-0 Colorado hits the road for the first time this season, visiting Northwestern..
