August 4, 2025 | Thomas County, KS – A Colby man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon just north of I-70 on Kansas Highway 25.

One person was injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash along westbound I-70, approximately 1.6 miles east of the Old Highway 40 exit. This was actually the 2nd crash of the day on July, 29th with the first one being that morning at approximately 9:08 a.m. on the westbound off-ramp at milepost 76.

An injury crash was reported Tuesday morning, July 29th, on Interstate 70 in Gove County, just one mile east of Oakley. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 9:08 a.m. on the westbound off-ramp at milepost 76. A 2018 Chevy Cruze, traveling westbound, left the roadway and struck a road closure sign. The vehicle sustained damage and was removed from the scene by S and M Repair.

Olympian Sandra Glover Hired as Head Track and Field Coach COLBY, Kan. (July 28, 2025) — Colby Community College is proud to announce the hiring of Sandra Glover as the new Head Coach for the Trojan Track and Field program. Glover is a former Olympian, world medalist, and decorated collegiate coach who brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and championship pedigree to Colby's athletics department.

Four people were taken to Logan County Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on I-70 late Wednesday night. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:58 p.m. on July 23, when a 2000 Dodge Durango traveling eastbound attempted to exit the interstate at Exit 70—approximately six miles north of Oakley. The vehicle hydroplaned, struck a highway sign, then hit a tree just south of the exit ramp.
