NWKS Radio has received reports of multiple fires in rural Decatur County. Listeners let us know that there is fire west of Clayton and possible another fire northwest of Jennings. NWKS Radio contacted Decatur County and they were unable to give us much information, but they did confirm that the Decatur Fire Department is out fighting the fire at the time of the call 2:50 pm cst on Oct 16th.

Today, we followed up with Oakley PD about yesterday's car accident. According to Oakley PD, the accident occurred around 7:16 AM, earlier than the initially reported time, and the incident was handled by Kansas Highway Patrol. As of the writing of this post, there has been no update on the KHP Crash Log regarding this accident. We will update when we find out more.

Colby’s City Council held a meeting last night and the big topic of conversation was the in-progress STAR Bond Project. A motion was approved for the city to approve the STAR Bond Project plan, done after the state approved the project. For those who don't know, the STAR Bond Project would use sales tax money to fund new developments in Colby, including a multi-purpose arena and more businesses.
