A Wakeeney man was seriously injured late Friday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 283, approximately two miles north of Interstate 70 in Trego County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash report, the accident occurred at 4:15 p.m. on November 14. The driver, identified as 56-year-old Russell L. Don W. Coonrod was born December 3, 1940 on the farm in rural Munden, KS to Wesley and Esther (Dugger) Coonrod and passed away November 6, 2025 at the age of 84.
